EASY SETUP and CLEAN-UP
Setting up the "Gold Maker" Vertical Highbanker is simple. First, level the unit. Next, slide out the sluice box and attach the hose to your 1-inch pump. Start the engine and shovel your paydirt into the unit.
The clean-up process is just as straightforward. Remove the nugget sluice and drawers, and spray the concentrates into a 5-gallon bucket. After that, place the drawers and sluice box back in position, either to continue running or to wrap up for the day.

Big gold is easy to recover; small gold, on the other hand, is the real challenge for recreational miners. If we are honest with ourselves, miners mostly recover fine gold, and depending on the fineness of the gold you recover, it can be even more challenging.
For gold to compete on a level playing field, you must have particle equivalency with other rocks. Proper classification is a crucial element. A side benefit of this action is that it allows gold to settle quickly in the slurry or bedload before it enters the first capture zones. If correctly classified, you should see a bulk of your gold in the first foot of your recovery system, providing that other factors, such as slope and flow rates, are correct.

"Having purchased almost every type of mining equipment over the past 10+ years, the Hollon Gold Maker, gold highbanker, is the one piece of equipment I wish were available when I started mining. It would have saved me thousands of dollars.
The portability is excellent. Carry it like a suitcase or put on backpack straps, grab my 1" pump, and off I go to sample another part of my claim. Try that with a traditional highbanker. Setting it up is a breeze. The cleanup was the most interesting. It's simply brilliant. As Mark says, pull the drawers, wash them in your 5-gal bucket, slide them back into the unit, start your pump, and you're back to work. That's it. No pulling mats, carpet, etc., cleaning them, then putting them back in. What was also surprising was the total recovery area. It's 51" in a small package, and yes, it catches fine gold. On my claim, I have only fine gold; see the photo.
What do I also like? No freaking wingnuts to lose and or keep track of, and Mark is always looking at how to improve his unit. As I have an earlier unit, he has incorporated a few of my suggestions in his new units.
